Is college worth it?

I recently read an article asking whether a college education was worth the cost. The conclusions is obvious: yes, if you're going into a profession (doctor, lawyer). It's tough, if not impossible, to learn on the job. But as for other jobs, it's not necessary.

Of course, you need an college degree to get many jobs, even sales jobs. But the point is that there's no good reason for this. And certainly getting into debt makes no sense whatsoever.

Will anyone of our "leaders" have the wisdom or courage to address this issue? So far, no. But hope springs eternal.
