Chris Christe's Defense Against the Accusation of Being a Bully

As if by wizardry, here's a journalist who clearly anticipated me and other reasonable people who might possibly think that Christie is a bully, and that the Fort Lee controversy would prove the point...

Chris Christie Is Not a Bully

...saith this journalist. After all, his bully-ism pales in comparison to a list of other bullies duly noted by this journalist...

These Guys Were

...the list of which includes John Adams, Bobby Kennedy, Andrew Jackson, Lindon Johnson, and - of course - Richard Nixon.

Well, you tell me: Is Christie a bully? I say "Aye!" I say the man struck me as such the moment he popped onto the national scene in his run for Governor of New Jersey. I say he has behaved as such - with intervals of strained "sensitivity" - consistently since his inauguration. I say that his "Uncle Chris" appearances throughout Hurricane Sandy notwithstanding, anyone with half a brain knows the man is a bully.

That doesn't make him a bad guy of course. And being a bully shouldn't eliminate him from running for Senate or even President, right? At least that's what the gents noted by this journalist indicate.

So, from the perspective of this observer of politicians, Christie was, is and remains a bully and, as such, the assessment can't possibly negatively affect his standing as a politician, potential Senator, potential President, etc. The reason it can't and won't stop his political career is exactly what this journalist brings in as a defense of Christie's bully-ism: All those other bully politicians. Oh, and never mind that being a bully is but one of the traits of the successful, power-seeking, unscrupulous and, yes, even psychopath (look it up) types who aspire to political office.

But let's be clear: The man is a bully.
