No More Microsoft or Apple?

With the world refocusing on the world's most valuable company, Apple, and its recent introduction of new products as well as enhanced versions of some of its most successful products, a counter current may be developing in one of Apple's biggest markets: China

The Chinese Communist Party embraced both Apple and Microsoft as it endeavored to raise the standard of living of as many people as possible, in order to keep itself in power, even as the Soviet Communist economy collapsed in 1989. But it seems, their "partnership" with these two tech giants was crafted by the Chinese government to allow it to achieve an important goal:
After years of alleging that the US government spies through the operating systems of Apple and Microsoft, and a month of investigating the companies’ Chinese operations, the Chinese government has announced that it is developing its own operating system to compete with the two giants.
I say its "goal" because the long-term plan has always been to invite American "partners" into China, like Microsoft and Apple, learn the technology at its source (some might say "steal") and then take that technology and make it Chinese. No need for surprise here. No need to feel sorry for either Microsoft or Apple either. They knew this was the game plan all along and were willing to play along, garnering profits as the various stages unfolded.

What might be interesting to see, however, is whether the Chinese people go along with this plan. Will they turn away from the "American" companies (Microsoft and Apple) and "buy Chinese"? We might also wonder whether at some point the Chinese government might insist they turn their backs on the American twin giants and embrace instead this new upcoming Chinese operating system.

Oh, and as for the US government spying through Windows and OSX, could it be possible that the Chinese government will be able to spy on its own citizens more effectively if they all use a Chinese sponsored-Chinese manufactured operating system on their computing devices? Hmmm...
