Two Weekend Stories That Tell Us All We Need to Know About the Media and the Election

In the unlikely event that some of you aren't certain - beyond the shadow of a doubt - that the main stream media has boldly and consistently favored one candidate and done all it could to undermine the other in this Presidential election, we offer these two articles published over the weekend. They come from the same media source, and were published online within minutes of each other. The two contrasting headlines, first the one:

Amid scandal, bluster and insults, Trump closes in on White House

Then the other:

Fending off foes, Clinton blazes a trail with White House in sight

We won't bother to dissect these. One can only hope the glaring bias jumps right out at you. If it doesn't, you deserve nothing but a head shake, maybe an eye roll, and, for certain, we who have brains and use them shake the dust off our feet and take our leave of you.

Also, notice no link is provided to the two stories. You can find them yourself if curious. But providing a link would only enable some of you to utterly waste your time reading articles whose purpose and message should be obvious upon the mere reading of the headlines. You should not be encouraged in such time-wasting. If anything you should be chided and chided again until the media's depraved indifference to the truth burns into your addled brain, such that the neurons begin firing again in some fashion that traces at least the vaguest pattern of reasoned thinking.

One more point regarding the lack of objectivity in the media:

A well-published author who also posts various articles online noted the lack of objectivity in the media as part of a list of signs that things aren't right with our culture and society. Much as I appreciate the author's writing skill and generally intelligent comments, the lack of objectivity really isn't the issue. A review of journalism throughout history reveals that the idea of objective journalism developed only in more recent times. For the most part, various publications would openly and proudly publish their opinions for or against a certain party or persuasion. Readers would know this and make a choice to purchase said publication in order to read the content therein (this being in the days before the internet provided gobs of free stuff in digital form). The problem today should more accurately be stated not as the lack of objectivity. It should be stated that sources that claim to be objective use that claim as a cover - in a most misleading and unsavory manner - to post articles intended to push or pull their readers in the direction in which they are trying to steer them.

The above demonstrates why it's important that more of us get up off our couches, splash some cold water on our faces, and shake off the torpor that has deadened our minds to real, objective truth. As Christ taught us, the truth shall set us free. Holding the truth close to our collective breasts will be our only hope of ever moving beyond the current perverse and depraved culture to a possibly brighter future. If we remember this as we go to vote on Tuesday, we'll at least not make the mistake of thinking that our vote will change anything. It will, at best, be a means of preventing the obviously bad choice from taking power. After that, only our insistence on returning the True, the Good, and the Beautiful to their rightful place on our culture will make a real and - we can only hope - substantial difference in righting the ship of state and our own lives as we face an uncertain and, at times discouragingly dark, future.

Wake up!

And, finally, God bless America!

LATE NEWS FLASH:

FBI Director James Comey wrote a letter to Congress over the weekend stating that nothing in the emails discovered on Weiner/Huma’s laptop - the emails that people said might pull the rug from under Hillary - nothing could be construed as “criminal” and therefore the investigation was closed. Markets (stocks - U.S futures, Europe, Asia) all jumped as gold sank and the USTreasuries fell). Great elation at this news. Evil (according to Wall Street and the rest of the elites) Trump will be the one to sink now; Hillary will rise gloriously to the position of Emperor. The timing was “perfect” for Comey’s letter. Of course, you couldn’t have predicted such timing. Nah.
