Banker Suidices PIcked Up Last Week - So What's Going On?
The third high-profile banker in a week apparently committed suicide. Banker suicides achieved storybook status after the crash of 1929. But with the stock market now in at most a correction - if you go by the recent price declines since the New Year began - any comparison with that unhappy time doesn't seem appropriate. Still, one wonders what's going on here.
...for the third time in the last week, a senior financial executive has died in what appears to be a suicide. As Bloomberg reports, following the deaths of a JPMorgan senior manager (Tuesday) and a Deutsche Bank executive (Sunday), Russell Investments' Chief Economist (and former Fed economist) Mike Dueker was found dead at the side of a highway in Washington State.
