The Real Story Behind U.S. Spying on Germany and Germany Spying on U.S.

Now that the German government admits it spys on the U.S., after Angela Merkel's protests over U.S. government spying on German citizens, more specifically on Angela's royal person herself, we thought it was time to get to the bottom of all this. Let's begin at the beginning.

First of all, spying is nothing new. Really. Of course, given the fact that so many of us have no clue what occurred in the world before we were born, therefore having no knowledge or sense of history, I suspect most people would find this a real eye-opener. But there it is, spying has been going on forever.

Next, pick up the book Dark Invasion by Howard Blum. The author details the efforts of the German government to not only spy on America before and during World War I, but also dramatically recounts acts of what we would now classify as terrorist attacks, designed to scare Americans away from entering the War. They did not succeed in their efforts, but, of course, I would suspect many of you wouldn't know that had I not mentioned it now, since, as previously mentioned, you most likely have no knowledge or sense of history.

So what was Merkel belly-aching about when she raised an indignant brouhaha over the NSA-CIA-Whoeverelse spying on her and other German citizens? Well, it was all an act, designed to gain political favor with her citizens (a/k/a voters). That's it, folks.

Now I'm not excusing U.S. spying; just saying there's nothing so outrageous going on here. And I'm not saying that some of our spooks don't take liberties with our liberty when they keep tabs on all us U.S. citizens. I don't really like the idea of being monitored by the federal government in any form it takes. I'm just making two points for your consideration:

1) If you didn't learn anything in history class, realize that you're at a great disadvantage in this world, with German whining about U.S. spying being but one example of how politicians can easily pull the wool over your eyes based on your ignorance.

2) If you don't understand that most, if not all, of what politicians do and say is designed to curry favor from you, manipulate you, and generally bamboozle you in order to get your vote to elect them to or keep them in office, then you need to take great gobs of "reality pills" and sharpen your reason and common sense. Because combined with your general ignorance of history, you'll be the perfect stooge for the endless shenanigans these people create to keep you under their spells.

Get serious about knowing history and straighten out your view of politicians.

Seriously.
