Happy Thanksgiving!

From the beginning of September, anticipation builds for what we now euphemistically refer to as "the holidays." Sadly, not only has Christmas been nudged out of common language (although it may be making a comeback this year), but apparently Thanksgiving is now spelled "holiday" as well. Recent business calls with vendors these past two days ended with: "Have a good holiday." Rather flaccid as it rolls off the tongue and squishes its way to our ears, isn't it?

Well, we're not going for any of that for either Thanksgiving, or Christmas, or, for that matter, Hanukkah. So here's an authentic and heartfelt wish that your Thanksgiving is filled with great food, close family and friends, and a little libation as well - unless you, like me, will be cooking, in which case, have an extra drink on me.

Happy Thanksgiving!
