Papal Conclave Brings Out Media's Slanted Reporting

Don't think the MSM presents news heavily slanted in whatever direction they prefer?
Cardinals head to conclave to elect pope for troubled Church
(Reuters) - Roman Catholic cardinals prayed on Tuesday for divine help in choosing a new pope, hours before they go into a conclave to elect a pontiff who will face one of the most difficult periods in the Church's history.

Can you see the slant here? Look at this other Reuters headline to compare:
Ryan spearheads new Republican plan to balance budget
Couldn't it just as easily say this?
Ryan spearheads new Republican plan to balance budget for troubled U.S. Government
Are sexual misbehavior and criminal activities, dysfunctional bureaucracy, and financial scandal peculiar to the Catholic Church? Like vs. the U.S. Congress (and many, many other organizations, religious and otherwise)? The difference is that the Church itself is indeed troubled by all this. Do you hear much about the government being troubled about similar issues?

Still not convinced about the slant applied to this reporting? How about this:
As in medieval times, the cardinals will be banned from communicating with the outside world.
What does the ban on communication have to do with "medieval times"? Do you think the reporter is counting on the the opprobrium attached to the word "medieval" to caste a shadow on the Conclave's rational desire to be held away from the prying eyes of the media?
