LaGarde Opines at the Economic Club
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The economic world no longer looks as
dangerous as it did six months ago, said Christine Lagarde, the managing
director of the International Monetary Fund, on Wednesday.
So saith Ms. Lagarde. After committing what is probably the worst blunder of any official since the economic crisis launched in 2008, by proposing the stealing of customer money that was purported by governments to be "insured," she is invited to speak at the Economic Club in New York, where she opined on the world's economy. You wonder what she could possibly have done to have this engagement cancelled.
But no, she somehow retains an aura of "expertise" - I guess. Go figure.
