First Quarter Results: Not Much Here

The first quarter of 2015 ended yesterday. What's to say? Not much.

The Dow was down 0.03%. The S&P was up slightly by an equally irrelevant amount. The media says these results were "mixed." Really, they're just nothing.

The long bond - as measured by the ETF TLT - was up 2.6%. Well at least that's something.

Gold was basically flat, beginning the year with a sharp rise, then falling sharply, until finally ending the quarter just about where it began the year.

Cash remains dead in the water, returning virtually nothing.

So forget all the commentary and chatter. The year's progressing basically nowhere.

As for the economy, sure you can find little bits of data here and there "demonstrating" that the economy continues to strengthen. But, really, nothing much is happening on the economic front either.

Frankly, it's just nothing. A sometimes volatile, sometimes boring nothing.

Tomorrow, we'll have, at least, something. Tune in.
